Austin,
I liked the Strom as well, but . . . well, a change is as good as a rest apparently
, except that I've spent all morning fettling it, so no rest there then.
I do really like theV85 but I thought something a little smaller was in order. I tried a CRF250L, then sat on a Rally version. Realising that I'd end up doing something even stupider than following Barftone over Dodd fell if I got either of those machines, I tried the latest version of the CB5X out and found it to my liking
. That and a good part-ex price for Big Bird helping make the decision easier.
Phil,
You aint wrong there. It is very like the 600 Alp power wise, so overtakes will take a little more planning.
Still got the F8GS with its 80ish bhp, but yea, definite torque deficiency in the garage now
Cabbage,
One of the reasons I got the latest version was because Honda have recognised that RR were onto something with their upgrade kits for the earlier versions and have implamented some changes that reflect what RR have done - 19" front wheel (OK, not spoked, but cast wheel can still get you places that spoked wheels can
), increased ground clearance and a little gizmo mounting bar above the instruments.
Lets see how this new piece of hardwear holds up to my usage
