Just thought I'd give a thumbs up to the Gore repair centre in Austria

My Rukka jacket needed a replacement zip (Gore Lockout closure for those in the know), it's still under warranty from Rukka and they advised me to contact Gore directly.

One email exchange later and Gore sent me a pre. Paid label to ship it back at their expense

I also asked them to make some alterations while they had it and for what was a reasonable cost they were happy to oblige

Three weeks later and the jacket is back, repaired and altered just as I wanted it

Couldn't be happier really so anyone who has a Goretex product that needs a repair I'd thoroughly recommend contacting them

Tbh Ian I am surprised that they didn't replace the whole jacket.

A few years ago I sent some leaky boots to Gore as I had lost the receipt and the shop I got them from (reasonably) said they wouldn't deal with the warranty. Anyway Gore said yes leaking and said if I bought a new pair of a Goretex boots they would refund. Which I duly did and they quickly refunded me. Great company and mostly great products.

for leaking garments I'd agree but this was just a torn zip that could be replaced and Rukka were paying :)

Even if you're paying yourself: The above work cost me just about €100, including postage back home. :)

There's a few scuff marks left, the button being one of them, but I wasn't bothered about them. They replaced the whole shoulder panel. Perfectly waterproof again, ready for another crash - but not for a while, hopefully. :D

I had them remove the Velcro cuff closures and fit storm cuffs and zips for €130

Bargain compared to buying a new jacket [emoji3]
