14 degrees in December - Who'd have thought it

Not a speck of snow to be seen in any of those pictures. Scotland's disappointing me.

A little cooler here today 0c with a few flakes, but still no bloody winter.

Early days yet, I remember my folks telling me about the mild weather over Christmas in '47, then they had record snow on Jan Feb of '48.

Still riding on the 23rd December! There'll be stars in the east and Middle Eastern people looking for lodgings next.

Twas 12 degrees Celcius yesterday, 29th December, so I took the F8Gs up into the hills . . . . specifically I headed for the Lecht Ski centre via Grantown on Spey and Tomintoul . . . . . .

Here we see the centre without much snow . . . . unlike less than a week ago when the road was closed due to TOO MUCH snow

This is the view towards Braemar, showing the growing bank of clouds that contain much wetness . . . . . . .

Headed home via Strathdon and the Cabrach, with the sun and the very strong wind at my back :thumbsupanim:

Today, I'd be better off with a set of water wings and not motorised wheels . . . . . . check out the River Dee video clip that shows a mobile home being rammed under a bridge

Lets see what tomorrow brings, weather wise, to take us into the New Year

I see the road from Ballater to Braemar is no more and has been consumed by the river Dee [emoji853]

It's over for me for the year (but can't complain - we had a terrific run of good weather).

Now back to normal. Snow mixed with freezing rain.....ughh

PS But anyone affected by the flooding has my deepest sympathy. My earliest memory is of my Dad carrying me upstairs in our house in Great Yarmouth in 1953. We ended up with 8 feet of sea water and sewage in the house. I'm glad I live on a cliff!
