There is another nice flat site at the other end of Dent village. UKGSer have an annual meet there. Probably needs booking soonish as it's a popular site and appeals to families.

Planning on attending the UKGSer event in May @ Dent, in the "posh" campsite :D

I'll let you know how much better, or not , the site is compared to the V bomber meet on the side of that hill at the other end of the village o_O

I have other plans for the UKGSer weekend but won't be far away in cumbria boozing with mates from another life. But, I have stayed at both Dent sites a couple of times each. The nice flat site on the West side of the Village is flat, smarter, cleaner, and a bit more civilised - well trimmed grass, clean toilets, proper access roads etc, but as with these sorts of sites slightly beset with rules and people who like rules. The other site has loads more atmosphere and that slightly wild anarchic feel, even if the toilets and showers are dire.

Had enough of rules at that shite campsite in Wales last year, forget the name now but it was bad, no radios, no fires, no loud noise. :(

Just so you peeps don't think I'm shirkin' ! Ain't much around Soho in the way of camping and I've no knowledge/never camped in the south. Also unfortunately my dad (who some of you have met at the Ace) pasted away last Monday, so I'm unable to get involved for a little while longer.

On a positive note. My favourite bike which I sold a couple of weeks ago has turned out to be too big for it's new owner. So.....................I'm buying it back next Saturday.I never got round to importing/registering it (lazy), which he has done. Same money...RESULT !

Edit - There's a good place in Banham Norfolk (next door to a Zoo and a couple of minutes from Snetterton race track) that me 'n cabbage went to once with ATR can't remember the name though ?
Sorry to hear that Nick. The campsite in Banham is applewoodholidays.co.uk
Nice site with rally field. Pub, shop, butcher and takeaway across the road.

About 2 miles away from Barmouth to the east A496 in the village Bontddu the campsite name is TYDDYN DU .
I can make requests.

Not sure we would compatible with the "quiet and peacfull atmosphere" that is trying to be maintained on site. :)

This is not a very popular campsite and it only has basic needed facilities. It has got quite a big space and it is next to a river with a beautiful view of the mountains, on the side of the main road it is separated with a hill and trees. We will be allowed to have an open fire, it is a good situated place where it is close to snowdonia and roads where we can go on in the mountains.
