Biker first aid course

I've been in discussion with Derbyshire road safety about the possibility of the running the Biker Down first aid course (Biker Down Kent)

they say there wasn't enough interest in it to make it viable

however I've got a contact from them that may be willing to run a course

If I can get some info from her is there anyone else who would be interested in doing a bike specific first aid course in the East Midlands?

Ian, I can sort a venue if you want one. Plenty of space in the yard, inside presentation room etc.

that would be brilliant,

I'll get back to you if/when we know more

A great idea and very worthwhile.
Me & V did one last year after the bomber run and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was posted and arranged through ukgser, invariably, break time was full of talk about fuel strip & fd failures and extended warranty. Obviously, being on inferior Hondas we were treated like social outcasts :)

I did one through Southport Super bikes about 3 years ago so needs renewing. Very good course but east mids is too far to travel.

Sent from my iPhone with a smile :)

some info on what would be on offer

The First Aid for Bikers Course is a 3hrs session that is quite intensive, fact filled and hands on and covers the following: -

What IS First Aid ?
First Aid and the Law
Riding and Nutrition
PPE
First Aid Kits
Incident Management
The Unconscious Casualty
Head Trauma Management (inc helmet removal)
Neck and Spinal Injury Management
CPR
Bleeding
Burns
Soft Tissue, Muscle and Bone Injury Management
Allergies
Temperature Extremes

We work with practical equipment and use a PowerPoint show as a support resource and we do expect our delegates to include themselves in the practical applications throughout the session.
We charge just £10 p/p and every delegate receives a Certificate that is valid for 3 yrs.

I did the one with Vader. It was excellent. I'd do it again as refresher, if I am free that date.

Yes, I'd definitely want to do it, assuming dates suit. Riding with Chris,it would definitely come in handy

Though Philosophy, Politics & Economics seems a bit extreme in the content ;)

Could supply spare room if anyone outside e.mids wanted to attend.
