Did this a few years ago and those that attended seemed to enjoy themselves.

An informal Gairloch campsite gathering from Friday 23rd June 2017 till Sunday 25th June (or longer if you fancy using Gairloch as a base for a long weekend) to celebrate the years longest day . . . ish!

The campsites web site:-

Plenty of amenities in the village – they even have electric!

The format – there is no format, just turn up, pitch yer canvas cave, chill out, chat and watch the sun set over the Atlantic at the end of the day.

The area, if you haven’t been before, is full of scenic rides, with routes as long or as short as you want to make them.

I’ll not bother making a list up – if you want to rock up and chill, all things being equal I’ll see you there.

Go on, make a list, you know you want to. :)

Well it was nice last Sunday, so took junior sibling out to Gairloch to see senior sibling camping with his merry brood at Gairloch.

And lastly, a shot of my mum's birthplace -- Isle of Ewe, off Aultbea, beautiful as ever

Great day out, my daughter enjoyed it, or I think she did as there was a lot of squealing coming in through the headphones :p

Nope, wrong campsite John. But that place does look to have more going for it than the other site IN Gairloch . . . . . apart from the fact that the pub is at the campsite entrance at the one IN Gairloch ;)

Ha ha Steve,

The one with the pub has my vote then.

However, the other one also has a cafe with a good selection of draught beers, takeaway meals etc.
Ken made himself comfortable there as can be expected :D:D
Toilets were exceptionally clean also. All in all, very impressed.

I too have Friday orf, but I'll be taking me time to get there, seeing as it's at least a hunderd miles away, taking the long route of course ;), so no idea at what time I'll be arriving.

The forecast has been changing a lot as the last week has progressed, so by the time Friday comes around, who the feck knows what'll be waiting for us, weather wise o_O

Yep.

Practice pack carried out "Satis"

Taking the long way there via the back road to Fort Augustus, then up Glen Gary and along the side of Loch Cluanie. Photo stop at THAT castle, then right for Strathcarron / Lochcarron. Might pop up to the top of the pass, traffic allowing, then along glen Torridon to Kinlochewe, then the final sprint up the side of Loch Maree up to Gairloch.

Waterproofs and a good book might be a wise packing choice  :respect13:

See you there . . . . . . . maybe
