OK

Have chatted with the strange one from the west and a final decision about whether or not to "do" Gairloch this weekend will be posted here tomorrow morning, after a final check of how deep the deluge is going to be out west:-

Weather forecast for Gairloch

I'll put my hand up now to being a weather wimp . Have no problem riding in the rain, but all weekend under a potential downpour!

Till tomorrow

:itsfriday: Feck the weather gods I say!

In between downpours it is forecast to be persisting down tomorrow out west, so I'm now busy plotting how to avoid doing DIY, housework or gardening for the next 48 - 60hrs that I would have been away for  ;).

Now, where is it NOT raining just now . . . . . or even tomorrow :ridebumps: :motorcycle:

Till next years solstice

Lowflyer ----- where was that campsite you flagged up (i.e. the wrong one) ??

As posted on the ADV Scotland forum I had a nice run up on Friday and an initially damp run back south on Saturday.

Hi there,

It was Sands camp site, about 3 miles out of Gairloch.
I have to say, the toilet blocks were spotless. I was quite impressed that, being near a beach, there is obviously a lot of sand in the showers etc. They even provide a squeedgy to take the sand away from the cubicle, really clean site.
I'm going back one day to give it a shot.
My daughter in law is not a camper and she rated the facilities as perfect.

Oh, and I have no interest in the place blah de blah :D
