I'm after a flip-front helmet and since I'll be in the UK I'm after recommendations for helmet stockists in the North West.

I'll be dropping by Colwyn Bay Honda to see what they have in.

So, ideally a dealer (or dealers) that stock a range of helmets for me to try.

Is Northwich still open?
The Oakmere branch has loads of stock.

They call the Oakmere branch Northwich for some obscure reason Phil [emoji3]

I just got the new Caberg Tourmax flip adventure helmet. Only worn it once but it seems pretty good. Will let you know after a long trip.

I've got one Wheelie, bloody noisy. You definitely need earplugs. Prefer my Arai, but its not a flip.

Interesting. I put my headphone speakers in and they fitted so nice and snug to my ears I had to turn down the volume compared with previous helmets. I wear earplugs anyway but I wonder if the void where the speakers went was causing you trouble?

Just brought some textile trousers from raceleathers, very good delivery service.
Crash helmet is a caberg duke, flip front, very comfy but a tad noisy without earplugs.
Really depends on your budget.

How odd!

There is RaceLeathers in Darwen too, never been though.

raceleathers....small shop; big internet shop. They never have much stock whenever I go in, also disinterested staff who haven't got a clue.

Try Ghost Bikes in Preston. Another one that's mostly an online shop but the physical one is in a big warehouse where also they keep all their stuff for posting out so a lot of it is in stock - everything I have ever wanted has been available. Its worth a call beforehand though and they will get it out ready for you otherwise you wait 5-10minutes while someone runs upstairs to find whatever it is you are after. They also do price match, so do your research beforehand and tell them where and how much cheaper it is. They will check though. Its a difficult place to find, although last time I was there they said they were relocating to a more main road so they had a bigger shop and were easier to find.

edit....I have just checked - they have moved and now look to be VERY easy to find, although I don't know whether all the stock has moved over to the new shop. The other bonus is that FastLine bikes are just down the road - classic Jap bikes and rare imports to drool over but at stupid money.

Oh and Raceways in Fleetwood isn't too bad but a bit out of the way. The RocketCentre in Blackburn have a good range too. In fact is probably the best physical shop I have been in around here.

I've got the speakers from my Sena in there, so that's not really the issue. Arai is just a better fit on me to be honest.

Quality of the Caberg is pretty good though. It's become a work helmet now.
Sun visor is useful on early mornings on the way home. Not a bad lid all in all.

Looks like it'll be a stop over at J & S Accessories. Well, it is sort of on the way from one sister's place to another's.

Might take a while though as, from what I can see, they appear to have quite an extensive range of, well, most things really.

Decent cafe there too ;)

Give us a shout when you are over as it's not far from me.

Will do. I think I've got your phone number somewhere.

don't bother with the new Ghost bikes shop. Until its finished its a waste of time with very low levels of stock. But FastLine super bikes was worth a look, with some very tasty bikes including a Honda NR750 for...... wait for it.......

£125000, yes thats right, £125000
