I've been digging through some old pics again!
Found some of the first national meet 10 years ago in Disserth Mid Wales.
Ahh the tales from that meet-up.
I remember being freezing cold and going to bed fully clothed even in all my motorcycle gear trying to keep warm. Such a fantastic time.
Here's the album.

Some pics below.....

I think Vader got told off for building a fire.

A bit loaded up.

My how things have changed ---

Nobody clutching a fistful of Feathers :D:D

Nice one Dave, some good photos there

I'll find some more of each National. It's great looking back.

Can't see the pics on Tapatalk Dave [emoji33]

.

I'll take a look at it but I suspect that's a tapatalk problem rather than the forum

right, I'm afraid this is an issue with Tapatalk that won't be fixed

on a more positive note the forum works really well on a mobile browser and pictures show as they should

if you want a more complete forum experience then maybe that's the way to go :thumbsupanim:

While having a somewhat smaller belly and a very small tent this was the event that started it all for me. I remember cobbling together my camping kit and squeezing it into a tiny top box, roll bag and rucksack and setting off on my first biking camping trip since 1989. And it felt fantastic as I left work on a warm Friday afternoon heading to the welsh borders not sure about where I was going and in particular about who I was going to meet (and then I met Pete - huh).

It was better than fantastic though, it was exciting, liberating, scary, and above felt like freedom. When I got there it was great looking at the bikes, the farkles, aluminium panniers (I thought these were just the best - seats, luggage, washing bowl, and very cool. I went home and bought some metal mule panniers) and after listening to various travel tales - Darkenbad's trips to morocco, Geobloke's and his rescue missions, Cabbage's travels in India and Africa, Petes Africa & Namibia stories - I vowed that I would be doing the same before long. A year later and a on fully farkled Transalp I set off to Morocco.

Well done DaveS for organising it all, and to everyone there for the inspiration.
