Not much of a ride report, but . . . . . .

Not sure if it has been posted up here before, but the Mountie (XRV logon) took a tumble off of his then new to him Honda Crosstourer back in Aug. This left him with a shattered left ankle and a broken fibia in the same leg. His physio started Monday just past, but in the preceeding 8 weeks he has been busy scouting out a new ride, as the Crosstourer was written off. And he found a peach. So this morning I took a drive out with him and his good lady to collect his latest purchase . . . . not that he could ride it himself of course

Took a longish-way home and it only seemed right to introduce Katie to some dirt :D

Comparing the Strom to Katie – not too dissimilar

He has actually gone and given the bike a name, based on the brand ID of KTM . . . . . KaTy Morag.

Here's to a steady and positive re-hab, in anticipation of throwing a leg over yer new ride mate :clapping:

I concur totally with standing around on crutches whilst your mate rides your new bike. Let's hope the Mountie is soon up and on the bike himself, well done you for helping him along the way by fetching the new bike :ridebumps:

Nice one Steve and the Mountie. Lets hope the recovery is sooner rather than Later.
Ironically a friend has just bought a 1050 which is getting delivered this week, it should be a touch handier on back roads than his 'blade!
Can't wait to get my mitts on it!

Dulnain Bridge. Took a run over the weekend before, to test ride it for him, and on my say so, he went and bought it o_O. And he got it at a good price, of course . 6 months old, 4.5k miles, full KTM luggage, Driving lights, new model Garmin Zumo fitted and one very square rear tyre

It rides better than the 990 Adv eldest son had, even with a squared off rear tyre, and appears to be more user freindly, maintenance wise, when compared to that bike as well. I'd happliy own one, and thats the 1st time I've ever said that about an Austrian made machine.

Looking forward to riding along side it when The Mountie gets back in the saddle.

Christmas Comes Early for The Mountie

Got a phone call last night – “Steve, what are you doing tomorrow morning?”

And so began The Mounties real recovery o_O.

Apparently, before I’d got there he was like a kid before Christmas, but more excited and only able to hobble about the place in anticipation and not run :D!

I got his stead out of its stable and parked it facing in the proposed direction of travel . . . . . . .

And before I could even get the camera re-focused, he’d fecked orf . . . . . .

Caught up with him soon enough and off we wobbled . . . . . . into the nearest wood  ;). . . . . . . .

How happy is this bunny? :motorcycle: :ridebumps:

Onwards a little further and he guides me to his favourite puddle – playtime it is then :ridebumps:. . . . . .

Not too long a ride, with his discomfort being the deciding factor on how long and far we rode. Got to say I’ve not seen him grin like that before . . . . . and he’s had plenty of “toys” in the past to smile about ;).

Good on you fella for “pushing the envelope” and getting aboard at least 2 months before I thought you would.

I have put the bottle away Steve and my man flu has mysteriously lessened
Could be the effect of the large drams I had during the game, I am exhausted:eek: , so should be ok for tomorrow

Well done Scotland :clapping:

And now he's gone and sold it . . . . . . . but only after buying an un-used '65 F800GSA with all the toys

He had the bolt removed from his ankle yesterday, so he's off two wheels for a week or two . . . . . . well, thats what the medics want him to do
