Hi all, been away from the forum for a while so I thought I would pop back in to say hello. On a very recent errand, in the great company of a forever-lurking-around-retired-cop-GSer-funny hatted-friend.......we came across the above little pass that takes you across the Apennines from Tuscany into Emilia Romagna.
It almost runs parallel to the more famous Passo Della Cisa but, unlike his best known neighbor, this is little known and therefore less trafficked......

Highly recommendable if anyone is down that neck of the woods. Miles and miles of "nothing except wild life and the occasional car, and, all of a sudden, at the top of the mountain, a lovely bar and restaurant run by an old lady who used to leave in London !!!

Anyway cheerio!

Ciao Bob,

and also on the way south we found this little place:

CAMPING

very handy, cheap (less than 8 euro a night) the guys who run it couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Even got us a couple of beers (Picon) on the house from Dany the manager! They have a small field at the back which can be reserved for groups, and bikes are always welcome. They said that with a bit of notice they can reserve the "bikers" corner and even invite a bunch of local bikes for a party, live music etc.
Site is well situated as it is just across the river from Germany and a stone throw from the Swiss border.....apologies if this is in the wrong thread.....

Sounds great, can't beat the French for campsites, over either of those borders it would have been twice the price.
