Summer jacket, Marlboro colours :)

I'd been looking for a new light jacket for a week or 3 since the warm weather kicked in, and got this Marlboro one today for a song! I've already got a couple of old light leather jackets but my inner fashion-whore simply HAD to have this colour co-ordinated with my bike one

My regular jacket is pretty heavy-duty and well weatherproof but the sweat runs down the back in really warm weather and gives me a clammy cleft

Really just asking, from a geek perspective, what's the history of Honda and Marlboro racing if anyone knows? Sito Pons ran a Spanish team back in the '90s from what I know, but I'm not sure of any other connections.

Always thought it was Marlboro Yamaha and Rothmans Honda. Was when I was watching Doohan & Rainey fight it out all those years back.

Yep. Marlboro instantly associated with Yamaha. Or possibly BMW on the old Dakar bikes.

Marlboro sponsored the Pons Racing Team Hondas for just the 1993 season as you mentioned, but also Vale on the Ducati for the 2009 season which people tend to overlook as the only reference which could appear on the bike was the Marlboro bar code. Can't immediately think of any other connection with Honda.

That's sort of what I recall mate - and Lucky Strike for Suzuki (and those weird chewing tobacco tea-bag 'Skoal Bandit' thingies later on)...
