Priceless trophies were snatched and thousands of pounds worth of damage was done when thieves smashed their way into the National Motorcycle Museum near Solihull overnight.

The robbers left a trail of destruction and fled with a haul of invaluable trophies - some of immense historical value to the industry and motorsport.

Museum chiefs are still putting together a catalogue of items missing following the robbery and have offered a substantial cash reward for anyone information leading to the recovery of the haul.

Just caught that on the BBC site. It really begs the question "Why?" ... the melted-down value isn't much these days, and the items will be unsaleable as they stand.
I hope :copper1: get some good leads and recover the trophies etc.

They must be complete dickheads. They'd never sell any of the trophies intact because they are all so well known and the Norton Inter lying on its side in one of the pictures is worth many, many times as much as the melted down value of all the tinware - and its so much easier to take as it can just be pushed away!
