Took an early morning run up to Ullapool to meet up with a small group of like minded loons of an ABR persuasion . . . . . . .

Smile for the Camera chaps . . . . . . .

Lets go get wet . . . . . . again

I had intended to camp up there - even took Friday afternoon off work to allow a lazy run up, but then decided that I'd rather enjoy my own bed and not a flappy, wet tent :eekicon:

Had a good chat with Austin and the other attendees over a late breakfast and an extended lunch at Lochinver.

Great roads to ride, even when wet :thumbsupanim: , apart from the Drumbeg road of course, cos its pooooo

Actually got wetter just outside Elgin on the way home than I did all day on the west coast - go figure :mockery17:

I am nearly home after a great 6 days around Scotland. 3 nights wild camping and two at Ullapool. Great to meet Steve on Saturday and force him down the drumbeg road. He did grumble a lot. He also rattled a guy on a vfr1200 who couldn't resist trying to keep up with Steve when he shot off in front (as he does) with about 10miles to go to Ullapool. The VFR1200 guy went on and on about how well those VStroms go all night. I reckon he was struggling to stay on your tail Steve.

Until today I managed not to ride in real rain as with good timing I either dived into shelter or got my tent up just before a downpour. And trust me I had some downpours including having to check outside my tent every couple of hours on Wednesday night when camping at the end if the Kinloch Hourn road. Fortunately I had picked a tent sized spot about 1" higher than everywhere else and was surrounded by a nice moat of water by morning (it's the grass see, good green grass instead of moss and weeds means it's just a bit drier underneath).

No decent pics as I forgot my camera but did find a prospect for a bunkhouse meet - 5 miles of forestry track to the bunkhouse run by a wild haired loon who has lived isolated in the highlands for too long. Cougie lodge it's at.
