Yet more woe for BMW

Owners of 2014 model R1200RTs with the ESA package are warned by BMW to NOT ride thier bikes, saying there is no guarantee a component in the rear suspension will not fail.

BMW tells R1200RT owners not to ride bikes.

Apparently, there is a problem with the plunger rod assembly on the rear suspension.

Not a vote of confidence in BMW's ESA system at all.

Oooh! That sounds a bit serious .... " with immediate effect all 2014 R1200RTs with Dynamic ESA must not be ridden."
Will they find similar probs with other ESA-equipped models... and what about other manufacturers bikes with similar "electronic suspension"?

The fact that it's early june is just insult to injury isn't it? Just the thing to thoroughly ruin any planned & paid for bike trips...

There are upsides to riding a 22YO bike... :D

A guy I know who is on holiday is stuck out in Germany just now. He took a call from his dealer and learned the news. So he is stuck with a bike he has been told not to use.

Not sure what's happening now but I'd be jumping up and down for it to be looked at right away or demanding a replacement bike for my holiday.

Good one on the dealer contacting him.

Massive publicity, and reputation, cock-up for BMW though.

Yes, but there must be a few smiley faces in Munich with the 3 TT wins by Michael 'I'm not here to make friends' Dunlop!
