Post Your HDR Pics...

Always look stunning Jim. First one really nails it. To those not sure what it is - A lot of cameras these days have a HDR (High Definition Resoution) function. Basically if you put the camera on a tripod or even hold it VERY steadily the camera takes a few exposures automatically and stitches them together which captures all the shadows and highlights such as skies being too bright or shadow areas too dark. I still bracket pics to achieve the same goal (merge the pics afterwards in Lightroom). The software these days is getting better all the time and I find its worth sometimes going over old pics and seeing if dull old pics can be brought back to life.

That's proper HDR which can yield some very subtle results, like your Blea Tarn pic. I tend to use software called Photomatix Pro for most HDR work and, if I've not bracketed, create a series of different exposures through Photoshop from the one image (actually I use Levels adjustments rather than Exposure). However, my images above were done on the iPad using Snapseed (free app).

Great pics Jim. Love the light in the first one and the reflection in the second one. What a spot!

I had to Google HDR too,I've had this one a long time. It's not my own and I can't remember where I got it but I have it on one of my monitors as a desktop pic. I think it really gives an "impression of the heat of the event "
