UKGSer Dent rally

I cant be arsed to go through the big thread on UKGSer but I think there were 2 or 3 or 4 people from Bigtrailie planning to go. Who? SteveT, Lowflyer I think plus who else.

I cant go for the weekend as wifey just booked week away and we come back late on the Friday, but I might mosey on up on the Saturday for the day if there is anyone going just for a chat and may be a shandy or two before heading home later on.

I might have to be in the car too as I have been having a few issues with the bike - poor & rough running and intermittently no tickover. I am 99% certain its the Throttle position sensor so one is on its way and if that fixes I will be a happy chappy and will be on the bike.

I've been reading about your GSA woes on that other place - seems to be like you chase down one part of the problem only to encounter another!

Myself, eldest son, Lowflyer and Rickskye are currently scheduled to attend the Dent event, travelling down on Thursday. Eldest has to attend dyalisis on Saturday up at Cockermouth, so he and I are looking to cover a road route on Friday (I'm not up for picking his 1200GS up from any dirt ride drop - picking up Lowflyers GSA was enough for me on Sunday). John was hoping to cover some dirt trails whilst down at Dent, but his knee is a bit fecked, which will hopefully preclude me leading him around some dirty bits on Saturday

Be great to meet up for a blether. Hopefully John will read this and add his tuppence worth.

My knee is slightly better, going to go far a blast off road next weekend, see if it holds up.
And matey boy, you only had to pick it up once as I was feked picking it up twice beforehand --- and me leg was sore

So to conclude, I will choose my choice of steeds after next weekend, going south this weekend coming.

I will definitely be there on Saturday then. It’s about 1.5hours from mine so could easily be there mid morning but if you guys are out on rideouts I will come later on in the afternoon for tea and shandies.

Bike seems to be sorted. I fitted a new throttle position sensor today and everything seems loads better but I need to get some miles on it to prove it. Forecast is good for the weekend so that shouldn’t take long. .

Glad you seem to have worked your way to the route of your machines woes Austin. I'm sure it'll be sorted now

Yes John, that does sound Soooo wrong!

I will let you know at the beginning of that week John. Eldest will NOT be taking his 1200GS off road with me anywhere in the vicinity. Thinking of doing the lake district wiggly roads on Friday, with Saturday being a "suck it and see" kinda day.
One of last years dirty quartet from that other place - Geoff Barnet on his converted R80RT - is thinking of leading an off road ride on the Saturday, so thats one option.

Some nice easyish trails near Dent gents. Look south of Hawes for Byways.

Done plenty of the local trails and ones in the Lakes (cheers for the info ) Tone. Not sure which ones we'll try, if any, this year.

Hadn't planned on doing any last year but Lowflyer pestered me so much that I gave in and ended up taking Big Bird over some silly ground . . . . . where Lowflyer lost the front end of his Exxon Valdis sized GSA .

Was a good weekend, was planning going this year but have something else lined up.
