Sorry mate, it's been so long since I did the rebuild I have deleted all the pictures I took when dismantling it. As I remember, it is a bit of a pain trying to persuade the wiring to go in the headlamp shell and still leave room for the headlamp. :eek:With a bit of patience you will get there.

Thanks for quick reply, did some more searching this afternoon and found a pic of the inside of the GB500 headlamp shell on advrider site, went through 40+pages!
Tried fitting the loom in after heating it with a hair drier to make the plastic more pliable and managed to get most of it in so left it to 'set' and have another go tomorrow at getting it all in.

now 'naked' with fairing removed and the electics working.

The ignition switch engine cutout did not work ie engine continued to run with the ignition off (& kick start!) but would switch off with the STOP switch. I had put an ignition controlled relay in the ignition circuit to ground the black/white ignition wire as the ignition switch is supposed to do. Of course the relay would not fit in the headlight so that had to be rewired to fit in the battery compartment .
Now wait for June to put it on the road.

Presume you are still enjoying the XBR.

Anything you have learned in the few years of ownership ?

Will look out for you in Borders, have just purchased a plum coloured XBR500S.

Late last year I did a part exchange with a mate for his Transalp that he found too high and fancied the XBR. The TA had some fairing damage from dropping the bike, statically, I fancied making a naked TA replica, not sure if Honda actually made a naked one but there are a few Honda advert pictures of them.
Mate uses the XBR for many VMCC runs, finds it is more his style of bike than the TA, the converse is true for me.

Since I rebuilt the bike I have hardly used it, so much so that I am going to sell it as it is a bit of a waste sitting doing nothing.
