Sorry Austin still not sure, if there's a change I can wire the money & email insurance over the weekend
That will be fine. I think closure of the event can be as late as Wednesday evening.

Looking forward to Friday.
If anyone is traveling North, how about meeting up at the "Tickled Trout" services on the M6,junction 31 (A59) at 11.30am, with a plan to ride on to the Red Rooster cafe in Penrith for lunch circa 1.00pm? Should comfortably be at the campsite with enough daylight to set up the tent.
The more the merrier.

I am looking forward too. Good plan on the ride up but I need to meet Archie from the forestry at lunch time so am aiming to be away at 8 ish. See you at the campsite.

Top tips, take the A75 only to Crocketford then take the A712 to New Galloway and then to Newton Stewart. It's shorter quicker and way way way more fun :).

OR at Dumfries take the A76 then B 729 to Moniave to find the lovely A702 to New Galloway.

OR just after Gretna pick up any of the roads to Annan then keep to the coast roads all the way round to Dalbeatie, then find the B727 to Kirkcudbright. Awesome :)

See ya'all there.

Good plan Paul, I'll see you at the Red Rooster at 1.00, or earlier if you fancy getting off sooner. Then pick whichever of the routes Austin mentioned that seems best. You got a sat nav?
Looking forward to it as well.

Sorry, broke the sat nav a couple of weeks ago, but hope to have another running by the weekend. However, I do know the roads up there, so shouldn't be a problem.

I still prefer to navigate everywhere by paper maps

Hi Austin
Family doing well and got a why don't you go :)
Any slots left ?
Ace work Ray - see you there or on the way

Taking usual route south - Braemar-Perth-Edinburgh-Biggar-Abington-New Galloway-Newton Stewart.

Not sure on timings as eldest son is coming along, so have to play ball with the school run :rolleyes2:

If anybody meeting in Penrith needs any last minute camping stuff, there's a massive camping superstore type place right near to the Red Rooster. No excuse for forgetting your tent pegs now

0900!!!!!

Earliest I'll be at Rothes to meet up with eldest will be 0830, so that would be approx 1.5hrs later at Braemar (1000hrs). I'll give you a call Thursday evening with a timescale.

Planning on using the 650 Alp for this jaunt - dragged it out of the garage this morning, with the plan of using it to get through to ARI for a MRI on my knee, only to find that the RH rear indicator wasn't playing ball. Even worse was the fact that it was just about hanging off the bike, as the threaded insert had pulled out of the lens body (small after market ones fitted to allow the use of my pelicases). Took the TDM instead and thouroughly enjoy blitzing traffic on the A96 going through and bending the bends on the back roads on the way home. If only this machine had a sump guard on it and some semi-dirt tyres fitted - I'd use that for Galloway in a heart beat :eekicon:

Hi Ian, you seem to have been quiet for a while. You could pop over on Friday or Saturday for the Ceilidh. We will also be going round the back of your place on Cairn Edward Hill. Doing it the opposite way round this time. Should be there late morning.

Cheers

A

Well, here I am !

I'll be setting off Cumbria sometime in the afternoon Friday. I'm bringing a box of wine, but with the Folk do on, is there beer / a pub nearby ?

I'm off to find all my packed away tent kit as I wasn't expecting to be out again this year.

Current weather forecast is fine Fri / Sat with Sunday Morning showers for the pack-up home run.

Chrz Mul.
