The last few days I have been doing a bit of research into Harleys. Maybe it is just a bit of after Xmas boredom setting in but after riding bikes since I was 16 and never having had one I just got to thinking.................... After all, the XR1200 has upside down forks and twin front discs so it can't be all bad, or can it? Anyway let's face it, my biking time is going to run out one of these years, so why not? On the other hand I will be going back to work tomorrow so it may just go away although I am thinking seriously about retirement, then I will have even more time to dwell on daft thoughts. I just cannot wait to hear all the good advice from you nice kind people on here.

Take retirement as soon as you can Andy, life is too short.
Harleys ?? not my cup of tea but I can see the attraction depending on the model.

If you buy well you will not lose too much if you don,t get on with it.

They don't go round corners, they produce very little power, they are very heavy, they are badly made BUT I would have another one tomorrow morning if I could afford it







And you have to wear the right SHOES, by the way

As an only bike, no way, but as one in a stable of various bikes, I would consider one. I'd need at least one reliable, versatile bike though. The Vara stays for now!
