I'm a may be. So count me out for the moment. At the very least I'll ride up on the Saturday and spend the day, but not sure on whether I'm camping or not at the moment.

Guys,

I need a commitment before I pay a deposit

I only have about 5 so far and I'm not putting money down if I can't guarantee I'll get it back

Sorry to say that we have a problem with this meet

I've been trying to contact Dom to pay our deposit but he's not returning my calls or texts and to be honest he's been somewhat elusive since Ruth first contacted him

On this basis I can't guarantee that he'll be expecting us if we turn up

If anyone wants to look for an alternative site then be my guest as I've not got much free time to deal with this at the moment

Thanks Ian, could it be he's having an extended bereavement (if you know what I mean) to deal with unexpected issues. Is it worth giving him another few days?
Another quick fix site might be where we had the National a couple of years ago, Green Trees or Green Caravan site? Just my two Penneth, before Andy comes to get me:oldman:

The other problem with booking somewhere else will be that this is the start of half term week down this way so lots of places will be booked up. Another option is to knock it another couple of weeks.
Disserth where the first national was held is also an option for a small gathering.

If I get time I may head that way today and see where it is and if anyone's around and then I can ask.

Dave, as relaxed as Mike (the owner) is, i know for a fact he does not tolerate Fires or noise after 11pm. Though his Bar is warm and very comfortable.

Yes there is that point. I remember him remonstrating with Vader as the 6 foot high flames shot in to the night sky!

I think you're probably right Stuart

We've been giving him "another few days" for over a week now - basically every time we ring him

Just didn't want to leave it until last minute to tell everyone

Just called in. It was 6.30 so gate was locked. Couldn't see any signs of life, but no notices up to say it was closed either.
Doesn't really help a lot!

Sorry can't make this one. Looks like I putting a roof on a house/barn for a mate to be able to move into over winter. Worth keeping on his good side for bike meets! Just south of Coniston 2 acres of fields and 5 beds (eventually) plus a barn that may well become a mates bunk house. It has a green lane practically from the garden!!!

Sorry I'm gonna give this a miss. I can't get Friday off work. Long way for 1 night. Looks like it's just as well.
