they do say that you can't go back

in order to clean it properly ( well, to clean it any way...) I had to move the tralp thursday evening and I started it and ran it up, like you do just to keep it charged and lubricated. Started first time, obviously and with a pang of regret I realised that I REALLY miss the sound of the twin ( my faithful companion of 17 years) The tiger sounds like a right tart in comparison, especially on a cold start...

So much so, that this afternoon, I took the tralp out for a run... I suddenly missed 20 years of technological advance and coold feel every one of the 100,000 km more... there is NO WAY I could go back to the tralp, and the plus side is, i suppose that I will no be less likely to have regrets about selling it...

Ha Moon,
You're perfectly describing the inverse of my reactions. Whenever I ride a new or modern bike (I've ridden a host of them) I am almost immediately bored. Everything works too well, too smooth, too powerful, proper brakes, seemless handling etc. Yawn!!! I miss all the clunkiness of my clunkers and have little interest in going forwards.

Different strokes :ride:

Very interesting points from both sides.
I've had newer, older, more advanced, more powerful and back again then round a bit more over the last few years.

You can't knock the newer technology or the way more modern stuff goes about it's business but then old, (relatively) simple, not to mention depreciation proof also has it's own charm too.

Swinging a leg over a Transalp for the first time in a few years made me realise how I'd missed the pleasant, subtle soundtrack when ambling along country roads, yet despite the bike being overshadowed in most other areas to my last bike, it certainly was no less enjoyable.

It's all about the ride [emoji2]

The only solution is to have both an old one and a new one. And a big one. And a light one. And a comfy one. And a shiny one. Oh, and a sporty one. Umm... how many is that so far?

The only solution is to have...
