It looks like this is definately happening which is great stuff and nice to see the weather is milder and a bit more settled

Hopefully we have enough of us to justify a yurt or pod/s as I don't fancy crawling in & out of a cold soggy tent!

Been freezing here all week, sleet, snow, and snowing as we speak
Hope you have a great time lads.

Getting a little envious here :(
Please take plenty of pics

Had a crackin' run to & from work yesterday John, it felt positively spring like when the sun came out.
Today was a bit drizzly at times today (visor smearing stuff) but jumper rather than jacket weather :)

I was down to my mum’s by bike on Monday and back on Tuesday. As Phil said mild both days particularly Tuesday. Snow has virtually all gone even in Shropshire where they had a couple of feet of it. Milder weather is just taking its time to fight its way north. The Lake District daffs will be in full bloom by the weekend. [emoji16]

I am not bringing my tent as we had a yurt booked. I am just bringing my sleeping bag, and, maybe, a sleeping mat.

I'm packing based on having a Yurt, so we can all sit somewhere warm and dry, specially as it looks like rain on Saturday. We might only need a smaller one but I think we should go for it. That means I only need a sleeping bag, no tent, bed, seat, nothing. As I have not yet got luggage sorted for my CRF that suits me.

Cool, sounds good to me Chris.
This could be like a modern-day Brokeback Mountain!

I should be there (in work scruffs) around 6.30 Friday.

Gents. I cancelled the yurt yesterday as people were cancelling and it was going to be expensive for just Phil! The campsite said i could use the deposit to rebook again sometime. So phil and chris can i ask you guys to get together and contact the campsite directly. Happy to use the deposit in my name as the yurt will still be available if u want it still? Alternatively use the deposit to book a 2 man pod which will be cheaper as another option. Good to hear we got a few along

Update on accommodation
The Barn is already booked but there are 2 yurts available;- large 6-8 £80 & small 4-5 £50, the large having cooking equipment but both having beds & log burner. There are pods available but are basic with nothing inside.
Anyone interested in sharing any of the above? Do we having definite/ maybe numbers to work with please?
No worries - cheers for putting the time & effort in Tony.

Chris, there is a small Yurt as in Stuarts post above that is a bit cheaper than the big 'un & still has spare places for anyone that wants to come last minute.

I wouldn't rush to get to the NW today Chris. Bloody carnage.

It's easing off and the rest of today & tomorrow is ok.

Yeah it started again today here, taking Ellie to hospital appointment and it was like being in the Millennium Falcon at light speed! Thought we'd seen the last of the snow.

I only noticed that damage on second look, sorry to see that Phil. Hope you didn't get too many bruises ?

I used to ride the snow all day every day in my courier days, now I'm unsteady just walking on that sh*t.

We have hundreds of Deliveroo riders round my way who are generally far from experienced riders all just trying to carve a living on low wages. It was really saddening to see them going down like flies during the London snow.(with little or now protection either).

Yeah, a bit gutted to say the least Nick. First time I've come off (and damaged the bike) in 27yrs of riding.
Still, the powers of creative gaffa taping and she's rolling again and heading to the Lakes this evening.
It was a slow speed drop coming to a stop at some lights so no damage to me, although I've pulled my shoulder picking the f'ing thing up!
I do have a hunch the CBS played a role as the front went first while trail braking the rear brake.
Hey ho, can't complain really.

Well I turned up, to find it cancelled so I uncancelled it. Gonna light a fire and wait for pigugly.

Rode the Kirkstone Pass this morning. Bitterly cold, zero visibility and icy patches that had me twitching. When the sun is out all is fine. But it's gonna rain tomorrow. So I guess we'll see how much riding we get done.

There's no signal, not even a phone signal, at the yurt and campsite but it comes in halfway to the pub, so am stood by the road posting this.

Six hours up the M11, M25, M1 and M6 on a 250cc. And the reverse to look forward to on Sunday....

Enjoy yerselves chaps.

Rode the bike yesterday for the first time in 2 weeks. Just a 20 minute ride, but I was fubbard by the time I got back home.
Man Flu? No idea of what I've got, but I've not been floored like this ever before.

I think an 8+ hour ride to the Lakes would have had me in a ditch before I got to Aviemore.
Enjoy, stay safe and punt up so photies to pish off us non-attendees.

PS - Phil, stop abusing yer Honda  ;)
