Many thanks to John (Lowflyer) for setting up this event. Brilliant location mate. It was great to ride out with you, PaulS and SteveT for a while on Saturday too.
I think the last ‘national’ I was at would’ve been Dent, 2007? None of you have got any prettier
(with the obvious exception of Mrs. Vader, that goes without saying), but it was great to see you all again
. I didn’t get to have a proper crack with everyone... next time. Did someone say we’ll be in God’s Own Country for the 2019 ‘national’?
Anyway, I thought this was a nice sized gathering and, for the most part, we were really lucky with the weather. The midges, bless ‘em, weren’t too bad most of the time either. The location was brilliant - I pitched my tent with a sea view - LargeWayRound and I got an Indian Reservation thing going on with our Teepee like tents. I’ll post some photos soon.
Today I left the campsite at 10.15am in bright sunshine! Didn’t last long though
Rain showers to Aviemore, then relatively clear and sunny from there all the way home. Took a few detours on the way back and covered just shy of 410 miles for the day.
