So, how's the corona virus affecting you?

Sitting on bike going brm-brm isn't really cutting it. Day drinking and naps OK for a while. But the instant we're allowed out of our burrows, I'm off to do a loop of Black Mountain Pass, across the Beacons to Hay and then over Gospel pass and home via Abergavenny. Can't wait.

Alright people?

I'm still locked down in Eastbourne with my old mum.
That's 11 yrs since her stroke.

I spotted Soho Nick with his latest attempt at social distancing...... wasn't going so well. :)View attachment 3092

Not so good about your mum Kev, keep your chin up, my dad had the same for 6 years, hard going mate.

That Nick has put on the beef a bit, thought he had given up the skoosh ?? ;):D:D

A biker mate in South Wales just got a £30 fine for a non-essential ride. I know it's frustrating, especially when people in England can ride out, but personally I think staying home is a small price to pay to help the ongoing battle against Covid-19.

I would pay £30 for a hours ride just now, to be fair.
I hasten to add that i am not going out for a ride.

Went out yesterday and today. Not far, although we took a picnic and stove yesterday. We avoided anywhere popular and just rode through everywhere and found a remote spot overlooking Morecambe bay for the picnic. It was very nice to be out and about but as everything of any interest is shut and no cafes or pubs or shops it’s really just a case of riding around a bit.

TBH it’s been a quieter couple of days than I expected. We didn’t see many bikes out, more cycles actually, and the roads were mostly very quiet, although I did see a report that Hawes was busy with bikers gathering outside the Pen-y-Garth cafe and generally not keeping to the “rules”. The weekend will probably see more of that. Son #2 said Devils Bridge was very quiet on Wednesday evening- him, his mate and 4 others.

Totally agree.
But it is frustrating to see so many bikes on the road just now, a lot of them with no luggage, rucksack etc. Obviously not on "essential". Lost count of the times my friends and neighbours have commented on how bikers can think they can getaway with it etc etc, giving bikers a bad name generally. For the majority of us, we are sticking to the government advice however annoying it may be.
Hopefully it'll soon be over up here, lads and lasses, and we can get back to a bit of normality at least.
Take care out there

Well, we're still not allowed out - other than shopping and exercise within 5 km of the house. The restrictions are likely to be eased a tad on Monday (18th) - so it looks like I'll be able to go to the local hardware and get a handful of rawlplugs, rather than ringing up to order them and having them delivered. Yes, they would genuinely deliver just a handful of rawlplugs - was chatting (at a safe distance, of course) to one of the delivery drivers the other day and they were run ragged delivery a box of screws here, a tin of paint there etc. By the way, I had ordered three lengths of skirting board that I would have had delivered anyway - they're a tad unwieldy on the back of a motorcycle. ;)

If anyone's interested the proposed lockdown easing is here on the RTE website - At a glance: What restrictions are likely to be lifted and when?

You can't be far from me, I'm in Pontypool, hope we're stopping in Hay for coffee 'n' cake?

Awesome, very envious.
Would you belive, we think there are torists in our village.
I can believe it Rick.
Anywhere even remotely touristy that I passed by (even remote countryside walks) were rammed yesterday.

CV19 must be all over & done with then!

I assume that if, next thursday, they allow people to go to golf course, that going out on bike is ok?
Talking about Scotland only.
