Well Big Nick ( aka as Jimmy Krankie by one member on here !!! ;) ) , said ok for fishing and golf yesterday, so got me old telescopic rod out and headed for the hills.

Water levels quite low so headed for another spot further on.

All kitted out

Found this wee Lochan, nothing doing, too warm and sunny for once. But the scenery more than made up for the lack of trout.

However the track getting to it was tremendous craic. The painting I did on the rear frame, swing arm etc during the lockdown seems to have stood up to the clattering. The old addage, gently on the way down, roast it on the way back :respect13:

All in all, a grand day out 180 miles ish, back roads all the way with a couple of off road piste training in between ;);) My first time out on a bike for 10 weeks and boy did I need it.
I can't wait for the next "fishing " trip.
I might sling my golf clubs on the back next time :D

Ha ha Bob, think you should. I have had that one for years and it's a cheap old thing by comparison to some of the top end stuff.

But I have a confession to make --- I only carry the rod as my way of complying with Scottish Governments guidelines re allowance of golf, fishing etc. I dipped the rod in the water on Friday but purely as a token gesture. Anyways it was too bright and hot to fish. Why waste time fishing when I could be riding in excellent weather and scenery ?? :D:D
I have many friends in NHS and it didn't seem right to contravene the lockdown, no matter how tempted I was.
My take on it is that there isn't a Loch within 5 miles of my address, hence I need to wander.
Soooo this is all about looking out old Lochs that I used to fish many years ago, some legally, some not.

And these are some I "visited " yesterday

Had to put on a "monster " worm here :D

Still snow on the hills, no traffic, obviously

This is the start of my old "poachers track " Managed to just squeeze past the gate strainer.

And the loch at the bottom, used to be stocked. The Ghillie chased me once up this track. Not easy running to the car with a haversack full of Brownies

There is no fish in this Loch, don't ask me how I know

Got back home about 2 pm, Had friends round, the first for 10 weeks. Kept rigorously to social distancing. Finished about 11, absolutely knackered today, great craic, just drunk far too much. Anyways out to the garden now, thank goodness I don't have to drive.
I still have a few more Lochs to " visit " :D:D
