Wanted Bike lift

I came really close to buying a Clarke one from Machine Mart. Started with a for sale ad on UKGSER that I nearly bought but decided I’d rather have a brand new one. It was only when I actually took a tape measure in the garage and marked it out did I realise how much of my little single garage it would take up. Then I checked out the weight of the things and realised this was something you put down once and leave it there. I didn’t buy one in the end. I’m still crawling around on the floor.

It’s one of these that are too big and heavy imho anyway. I might change my mind though Clarke CML3 450kg Foot Pedal Operated Hydraulic Motorcycle Lift - Machine Mart - Machine Mart

I remember Boris had one in the garage with his GS on it I thought "this is the way to maintain a bike". Cheers Austin

I had one many years ago, worth their weight in gold - if you have the space they are heavy if you need to move them around.
From what I understand, the scissor lifts take up a bit less space (as they lift vertically) but less stable than the parallel lifts (that lift up in an arc).

It can be a worry if you are flogging a siezed swing arm pivot or wheel spindle or using a big power bar on a bike that is 3' from the floor [emoji849]

I will get another, one day.....

Sorry, what was the original question [emoji3]

I hope to get one one day and dig it into the floor. That way you won't trip over it when it's down.

Hey one can dream... ;)

I have the same as Bob, bought it about 6 years ago and it's the best money I've wasted in many a year. I was putting braided brake lines on my 1500 Goldwing and lying on the floor I thought "there's got to be a better way". Ace if you've a bike with no main stand, buy one but only if you've room.
