NC750X=214 kg
CRF1100=238kg
If buying a new bike I know which I would choose, but I have been an NC addict for 6 years. :)

Andy.
Ok, without dct,

224 and 248 with dct.

Mine is 242 2019 model dct crf1000l
So for me is 18kg lighter, pretty much what Steve said.

Cb500x is 199kg. No dct option.

Funny riding bike with manual gears again, first thing, I stalled it , then kept forgetting to change down as I slowed, stalled it again.

Ok moved on a bit. Looking at range and stuff.
Reading up on loads of things.

May have to go on a tracer 9, but

I will have to try the nc750x, but nothing does what my africa twin does, may be nt1100, but.....

I am going to go back to gym.....

Why do so many bikes have a range less than 200 miles.
My run down south starts with 150 miles no fuel stops, so I need 200 to be comfortable.
My at does about 230, thats not the adventure model.

Would I get an adventure at ... don't know yet.

This lad Chris from Bristol just got home yesterday - His little 125 has amazing range, her's a clip of his trip. It's a PCX125. I'm picking one up for myself, 3500 quid, what's not to like ?

Just got back home, a little under 3,400 miles, total fuel spend £173.43!!

Best bits:
Slovenia - loved the forests and lakes and generally road conditions were pretty good
Dolomites - never fails to impress. Riding under those rock faces, the frequent switchbacks, the Alpine scenery.
Combe Laval - probably one of my favourite areas, the forests around there are fantastic, the villages around Combe Laval always seem pretty interesting, and that crazy feeling of riding the balcony road with just over a foot of wall stopping you plummeting to your doom. Pretty exhilarating

Rick, buy with your heart not your head. Paralysis by analysis and all that, plus you’ll end up with a bike that ticks all your boxes except the one that really matters: you simply want to own it.

Does it have to be new or nearly new too. Loads of good slightly older bikes.

Going to dundee to test ride new at, see whats thats like, and nt1100, asked about nc750x but they can't get hold of them for sale, let alone have one for a test ride, which is a bit of a dilemma.

Bashed my toe so have wait a few days.....
Hospital x-ray, but not broken, just inflamed tendon.

It was the high price of heating oil that did it.
Heating was off , I was rushing to get back into bed after pee as it was cold, and cracked toe on bed end. [emoji31][emoji31][emoji31][emoji31]

I've just sold my NC750 DCT but it wasn't because I didn't like the bike, it was a fantastic wee bike. I say wee because it just didn't feel like a heavy bike, it felt like a bike that weighed 150kg to me anyway, especially after the big DL1000 V-Strom.

Andy is right about the fuel consumption, the thing just didn't like using fuel. 14ltr tank but would do 200 miles before thinking about wanting fuel.

My only negative is actually (funnily enough) also a positive. DCT, it was brilliant, great acceleration, easy to ride etc... but it was also a negative in that I did feel slightly disconnected from the bike, it just wasn't that riding experience if that makes sense. For that reason I think my next bike will be a manual again.

My AT is Dct, and I have days of great and days of ok, but when I rode a manual for a test ride, I really did not appreciate it. Certainly flying round the Yorkshire single track, I felt very connected. Especially as you brake for a corner and the auto blips down the gears.
