    National 2026

Yup, that was the first one afaik. 2006 I think. DaveS organised it. Good little site despite being mostly statics:bar and cafe, fires, not far from town - good chippy. Good ride out options.

    New bike….

I’ve had two V7s as loaners from Teasdales. The first was a 750 and as well as having really crap suspension was underpowered and uncomfortable. The second was the newer 850 engine which night and day different in all respects. I like it. I Believe the newer E5+ versions are another huge...

One will have to go before too long though, there’s really not enough room in the garage.

    New bike….

It’s true what they say about Guzzis. I’ve now got a fleet of them…. This is the most handsomest bike ever. As well as being just brilliant to ride.

    Weight of accessories ect

Best bike for loading up was the GSA I had. With the upgraded Wilber’s shocks you barely noticed the weight. Handling remained brilliant. I ought to get another but they just don’t appeal anymore.

    Spain, Sardinia Corsica 2025.

She’s cool about it. We’ve both dieted recently and try to keep our weight down - which has released a decent amount of headroom for the payload. In fact she knows and can tell that when the bike is heavily loaded it’s not as good as when it’s not. She’s also very good with packing, although...

    Weight of accessories ect

Hmm good to know. When test rode an AT 1000 6 years ago the payload capacity was a ludicrously low 175kg or something. For most riders that would preclude a pillion let alone a pillion plus luggage. It did for me anyway. That limit is a problem if like us you regularly tide two+ luggage...

    Weight of accessories ect

So what is the payload capacity of an AT then?

    Spain, Sardinia Corsica 2025.

I suppose I’d better finish this off. Our last night in Spain was in the same posh-ish 4 star hotel we’d stayed in the first night. This was part of the Brittany ferries holiday package we had booked as even with two nights in this hotel it was £50 cheaper than just booking a crossing...

    A Return.

aah yes, I cocked up ferry timings off the kintyre peninsula to Islay so we had to blag a cheap night in huts near Tarbert as we needed to be in the ferry queue by 6am or something. I was coming down with a cold when we camped the next night on Jura and went to bed early but unwisely left a...
