Well if that's your attitude, I will bring the one that some tw@t destroyed last year, and we can sit around it in silence, each thinking of our favourite tune.

Eh ? what happened there then ?
Disappointed to hear this if that is the case :(

You bring along your ghetto blaster Al

You guys have never met me yet...was still sitting on the fence anyway...a crap weather forecast too !...and then a rear puncture on the old Transalp...took experienced bike tyre fitter forty minutes to get the bloody thing off the rim...new Metzeler tourance and tube and rim tape delivered today...powdery inside of rim nicely cleaned and painted...Touch and Go ? or Not to go ?...and then the tyre guy does not want to fit the new one ? WHY ?...I thought something was going to go amiss...Still might make it as i already had Friday 8th booked as holiday...Anyone know if Metzelers are a problem to fit ? as punctured wasn't old...dated Aug 2014...Definately going to get the pair of spare wheels for the Transalp fully sorted so this crap don't get at me again in the future...Feel like a right NOB for not sorting them earlier...Still might turn up to say hello.....

Take it to a bike shop. They're not that hard to do. We did Hudder's (140) one and also my son's Avon Distanzia at the roadside with just tyre levers. There is a technique if not used renders the tyre useless or impossible to remove or fit

Hi again...I CAN do car tyres with levers...never done any bike wheels though..my first ever puncture...I GAVE UP after about 30 minutes of struggling with the oldest Avon Roadrider that was really old...Took the pair to an old school bike shop that's been there years...Said they only take about 8 minutes average using levers " not a machine "Quoted me £12 the pair...Even the car tyre place opposite him said NO ! we ain't touching them..THEIR BIKERS TOO and even give their own bikes to him to do their tyres ?...he says there not even made of rubber and never had such a problem...But i've now Allochromed { brush chromate chemical treated } the rims to stop any more rot..so he's not wanting to touch them now...Normal car tyre places would not entertain removing them...I couldn't believe the agg i was having...I've got a video of ME taking a 185/70/13 inch tyre off a Cortina rim with levers and putting a new one on and pumping it up.. ELEVEN minutes start to finish because 25 year ago my new job workmates said i was a liar...i showed them !...I'm a big strong 17st beast and did not want to damage these rims..THEIR LIKE ROCKING HORSE POO..so backed off and let the professional do it instead...charged me £30 bloody quid as well..1 hr 15 mins hard work he said, WHICH AIN'T BAD £ £ £...I am going to have a go putting the new one on and putting the old punctured one back on the spare...didn't try my big 12" and 18" levers though...Say some prayers to help me out...Now have a helper...a bead buddy aid ! to try out from good old ebay as well.......

Are there any ride outs happening?
I'll be organizing the "is my jacket really waterproof" ride... 30 minutes at 60mph to see if your gear lives up to the tag it came with from the store ;)

It may be more than 30 minutes if I can't get my Garmin to behave...

My old mum has picked up a chest infection again, it's now looking only 50/50 for me to be able to get away. Would have been my first break of the year too. .....
Parents ! who'd have'em.:(

Sorry to hear that Soho! I hope your mom gets better soon!

On a different note, is anyone bringing awning or something? The weather predictions are pretty dismal, so if we have some shelter there that would be awesome! All I have is my trusty Khyam Biker tent, and that barely fits 2 people.

Also, what are we doing for food? I saw they have fire pits, but again, if it's chucking with rain that might be difficult?

I'm loading up the bike as I type (well, not quite simultaneously), and my ferry leaves 10pm this evening. Looking forward to seeing all of you!

Have a great weekend all. We can't make it as we are currently heading west in Northern Spain.

I now have a very good rear wheel !
That just needs a bit of paint and fitting back on the bike...It's about a 120 mile trip to Moulton st Mary...What the weather like up there ? ? It's absolutely bucketing down in the south east at the moment.....Andy S

I've been & gone.
Lovely weather there at the moment.
I think the site owner was leading a rideout today. Shame I don't have time to tag along.

Well i finally made it !...and met some of you guy;s after 2.1/2 years ...after the initial damp start to my excursion...as i'm an idiot, and don't wear the right gear...I duly " fell off " for the third time in 39 bloody years of part time biking..but ended up fixed up again and mobile with your help...and had a really good time, chin wagging around the humongous camp fires with a few ciders with a really clear starry sky'd totally dry evening and good company...learned a bit more about bikes "n " bits from you experienced blokes...and i'll try and avoid the mud in future and next time it will be a " proper " air bed and sleeping bag...
