Well, supposed to be a nice weekend, and as I'm off for 4 days seems rude not to get the bike out.

Anyone up for a ride out, and any preference on day or location?
Just to throw a possible location in, how about Bridgnorth?

I am riding back up to the UK from Valencia through the middle of the Pyrennes and via the Millau Viaduct (have been wanting to see that for some time). Leaving Saturday morning (wife has plans Friday - UGH!) and aim to arrive in Calais Wednesday evening. No set plans except for the viaduct - just going to set Sat Nav to "Avoid Toll Roads and Motorways". Might spend a day in the Pyrenees if the mood strikes but will more likely spend more time there on the way back.

If anyone fancies meeting up, drop me a line!

Spent many a summer near Minerve (and went to Carcassonne) and would heartily agree. Always wished I'd taken my bike. Riding round - just to- Minerve would be great.

Sorry Ian / rob. Have family commitments tomorrow and Saturday. Could be up for something Monday but guess that doesn't suit?

Yes it was a great day,

somewhat of an eventful start to the day with Ruths bike refusing to start once at the petrol station, so got it back home before dashing over to meet Rob and Sam two up.
Then Rob had 'misplaced' his keys, but once found a run to Bridgnorth for fish and chips and ice cream was the order of the day.

Now bring on the next run out (once I've fixed Ruths bike) :)

Maybe a little run out on Monday is in order

That OK diner we stopped at on the A5 is good for meet ups, especially with free tea and coffee refills!

I'll give you a shout Monday then!

Bridgnorth.....used to live there and go out with "Bridgnorth bikers" a rag tag group of Greasers on Brit bikes, Quo fans in badged up denim cut offs riding RD250s and wannabe hippies like me on my 250G5. In them days i was known as Bill (long boring story). It was a brilliant time and in them days before drink driving was a social taboo I used to reckon on 4 pints then a pint an hour as a guide to staying sober enough. We got banned at one time or another from every pub in town - and there's lots of them. Last place we used was the Fox in low town which I think has closed. There used to be a very popular biker meeting place at a cafe in low town on a Sunday - donkey dicks we all called it and it was a proper biker place - rock music, pool, pinball machines and overriding stench of patchouli oil, and dozens of bikes lined up outside.

Ace, nice memories and it was how I met my wife. :)

You were basically drunk, dressed like Village People in what sounds like a gay bar (Donkey Dicks). Are you sure your wife's actually a woman? :D

It was an innocent era back then with no influence from cosmopolitan London and last time I looked Mrs A was definitely all woman.

Are you still up for a run out tomorrow Lou?

Forecast looks a bit better (a bit blustery though maybe)

We'll be at the Yonderman for about 10:30 in the morning if anyone fancies meeting up.

Not long back from a great ride today.

Rob joined us for a ride up to the Yonderman where we met Lulu and ChrisX for breakfast,

afterwards Ruth led me and Rob on the route that Russ showed us a few weeks back stopping in Milldale for an ice cream, then followed a winding route back home.

So thanks Rob for joining us and making it a great day :)
