BENNETTS INSURANCE RIP OFF

Am moving house next week 40 minutes down the road from Warminster to Chippenham so phoned up Bennett's to change my address for the bike and the scooter.

They wanted £30 admin fee per bike and the GS monthly payment was to jump from £21 per month to £37. I mean WTF??!! Didn't hang around for a quote for the scoot.

The reason for the hike must be that i'm moving from a locked garage to a wooded outbuilding. Either that or Chippenham is full of bike thieves.

It's Compare the Market for me later I think!

The £30 rip off admin fee (for 30 seconds typing on a keyboard? WTF?) sadly seems to be an industry standard. I've had the same with Aviva through Just Motorcycle Insurance.

last time I had a policy with Bennetts it was cheaper to take out a new policy with another provider than make a change with them. Thats last time I did business with them, however now appears to be the industry norm.

Just swapped my 2005 Passat auto diesel estate. Six months into insurance. New car is Skoda Yeti 140bhp 4x4. I was anticipating a price hike and changeover fee as seems to be the norm nowadays. I was plesantly supprised to be told there was nothing to pay. The original premium was £185. I am well pleased. The company is Privilege insurance. I have been with this company for my car since 1998. Thought I would give them the publicity.

I have just gone back to Privilege for the cars this year. Was with them in 1992ish when my MG Maestro was stolen and trashed. They sorted it all out promptly and gave me enough that I could get the same model and year and less miles car. Hope they are still as good but would prefer not to have to find out by making a claim.
