Deceptively fast. A D model and unrestricted

Had a green ZX9R after that but couldn't find a photograph. Swopped that for the only one of my bikes to ever have a name.

Had that for a while and then gad another one of these

decided I'd made a mistake

I was bored one day and had an extended test ride on this and a new chapter was born

After a year was offered a good deal on a 1200GS which I kept for a year without a fault but still didn't know if liked it.

However I then had another test ride and bought this

Two years later swopped it for another

Now i've got a FireBlade

and an E800GSA, which hasn't been photographed much.

Which was the best, all of them. I love my new bike to bits. It's light, handles well, does 60 mpg and is very manoeuvrable when I'm pushing it around.

I still miss the big red one though :thumbsupanim:

got no pics of the actual bikes to hand so borrowed some look-a-likes from elsewhere on t' web

First bike after passing my test was a 1977 CB400T, not exactly exciting but a good tame bike to start with

After the CB was stolen I replaced it with a KMX200, bonkers bike, took me ages to learn how to keep the front wheel on the ground

I then took a long break from bikes and got back into it only about 6 years ago with my trust old F650 Funduro

which as replaced with Big Bird (my 1150gs) about 4 years ago and I can't see it being replaced in a hurry

We'll start with this

A 350 2S triple Kwacker - badly made, plugs lasted 90 miles and 25mpg.

Kawasaki 350, West Wittering 1971

At the same time I was racing a 344cc Aermacchi prepared by Francis Beart. This was full chat along the straight at Snetterton, 1972/3 can't remember - note the Premier helmet imported by Phil Read, I've seen adverts for them nowadays

Aermacchi 344

Then in the 80's/90's I got a fit of Harleyitis

Back street Hero

Harley Davidson Springer

Finally, I returned to another road going Aermacchi-Harley Davidson in PURPLE!! This was the last bike I owned and when I sold it I had a 12 year gap until I bought my BMW F650ST in Jan this year

Aermachi Harley Davidson Ala D'oro
