This might be old hat to some people, but the NHTSA (US version of our VOSA more or less) have finally published their report http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/probl ... mmary=true on the possibility of the right hand fork (made by Showa for the model year 2000-2004) which can fracture just above the pinch bolt. There have been some very serious serious accidents (see http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=371650) and as usual BMW have denied any responsibility . . . . . . Ho hum, plus ca reste etc etc. I do know of a couple of people with the F650GS on here so best perhaps to either crap yourself now, or go to the shed and check it out for any sign of cracking!
