Hi folks, just a reach out if anyone maybe about Campbeltown 7-10 July?
Spare of the moment trip, I'm on ferry Larne - Cairnryan as I type this. I must admit I'm not the best with forum activity but thought I'd give a shout out if anyone may wish to meet for a beverage over next few days?
I've booked hostel in Campbeltown this evening and will camp next three days if weather is kind. Travelling on my CRF450L with probably too big a roll bag behind me but, self sufficient I hope.
I've explored most of Scotland & Isles to visiting a friend in Orkney a few times.
My last visit to Highlands 2011 ended up in intensive care at Fort William hospital having been wiped out on my KTM by 'hit & run' driver.
I've always bypassed the SW so thought I'd explore a few distilleries - I like the peaty smokey stuff.
Anyway, get in touch or if ever near Kenmare - Kerry give me a howler....

Hi Steve, i understand distance and travelling time is considerable.
A few ferries are off this season so a lot of island hopping. Left Campbeltown this morning in misty rain and now camping Rothesay on Bute. I put on a new TKC80 before I left and will need another upon return.
The 450L is surprisingly frugal and capable over distance. Probably about 3K/kms by time I get back home.
I've not encountered many bikers touring the Lowlands & Hebridies compared to Ireland this season on roads and ferries.
Visited a few distilleries I like the peaty smokey stuff.
