Christmas Run Salisbury Plain Tuesday 27th Dec

Meet at approx 0830 for Brekky, 0930 away. Warminster Services Little Chef (OS grid ref 860466) NW of Warminster on the A36/A350 roundabout (DO NOT confuse with Frome services). Suitable for big trailies. We will run across the normally barred Western sector through Imber (tarmac) and head round the perimeter road (hard pack gravel) towards Stonehenge. Obviously weather dependant to a degree (few feet of snow a few years back!). The pace will be steady and pillions welcome. Please be aware that although I will try to pick a fairly easy hard pack going route I cannot be absolutely sure what we will encounter on the day (ice, puddles,etc) and we will suss it on the day if anything looks too tricky. You are responsible for your own riding and where you choose to go or follow!

My mate Del usually takes a run up there on his RD400 or XJR1300 , so it should be possible for road bikes as well on a different route

Just watch out guys. Seen this on Facebook. Somebody is planting 6 inch nails into the trails

They are Antingham 3 to 4 nails in a row,digging them in half way

Better keep my eyes open! Its a big area. If you have any more specifics it might be helpful. I know the Old Marlborough Road well but this sounds near houses (top end?). Rumours can also be started by vested interests. Dont panic people...it'll be my tyres that go first and I have tubes!
