Had a fabulous day riding my bike in the green lanes of Berkshire yesterday with my bro. Absolutely fabulous day and a route of mixed grade difficulty (although I'm told it was a relatively easy route :rolleyes2: )...Some stunning views and water crossings to tackle. I was pleased with how I got on despite a few tumbles ...Unfortunately took one tumble too many and hurt my knee!! Somehow I don't think I will be going far this week ...:(....it hurts!! ...I will post pictures of the ride out in due course when I get copies of footage from my bro. :)

Ouch! Are you sure that's just a bruise? No real damage?

Well no I'm not sure. Going to doctor tomorrow morning for advice. I had knee protectors on but unfortunately the handle bar jabbed me on the side of the knee just beyond the scope of the protector. :( ... I really hope there is no real damage!

Well doc sent me to A&E. ...back now and it seems my Thumb is broken - got to see thumb specialist tomorrow afternoon . I knew my thumb hurt and was swollen but it didn't hurt as much as my knee so I had ignored it!!!

Knee not broken :),,,,but got to see knee specialist Thursday morning re ligaments etc as not happy about the excessive heamatoma swelling. Leg now in splints and I can't drive for a bit . Knee Specialist will tell me more Thursday. Nice strong pain killers supplied and requirement to continue with raising leg and wrapping it with packet of frozen peas!!

But despite this I still had great fun! :)

A non bike riding friend told me I've got to "stop thinking I'm a teenager" .... But I'm not sure I'm quite ready for that!! :rolleyes2:

Thanks to all for the well wishes - I'm hoping for a positive diagnosis from the acute knee doctor - fingers crossed :)

A quote that is at the beginning of the road film

"The man hunched over his motorcycle can focus only on the present instant of his flight; he is caught in a fragment of time cut off from both the past and the future; he is wrenched from the continuity of time; he is outside time; in other words he is in a state of ecstasy. In that state he is unaware of his age, his wife, his children, his worries, and so he has no fear, because the source of fear is in the future, and a person freed of the future has nothing to fear." — Slowness, Milan Kundera"

age is nothing more than a count of the number of times we've been on a trip around the sun

if anyone tells you you're too old for this kind of sh1t just tell them you're from Mars and only half as old as they think you are ;)

I find jealousy rearing it's ugly head in many unwanted forms at the most inopportune time :mockery22: You can die watching the TV :respect-047:

Easily said but don't let this spill dent your confidence, chin up

I hope you have a positive outcome and a speedy recovery, we need you fit for the dancing and window escapology at the National :thumbsupanim:
