Ghost Bikes, Preston

Some of you may know Ghost Bikes as an on-line retailer of bike stuff. They have always had small premises in an old mill in Preston but about a year ago moved into a massive unit on an new industrial estate. Its taken a while but it seems to be open properly now - a biggish showroom, a big cafe with a huge screen showing motorsport, decent smart toilets and showers, and the best bit free coffee. Its free for now anyway, I don't how long it will last but I got a cup for free this morning in return for filling in a satisfaction survey.

Just thought I would mention it. Its a bit difficult to find though...

Google Maps

The easy(ish) version is from the M6 is follow the A59 from the Tickled Trout junction up the hill, keep left at the roundabout and after about 1 mile look out for Lidl on the left, take the road (left) immediately before Lidl and weedle your way onto the industrial estate - you should be able to see the Ghost Bikes shop front signage. If you miss the Lidl turn take the next left, then left (around the back of Lidl basically) and again weedle your way to Ghost Bikes.

I bought a helmet from them many years ago, way back when built in speakers and Bluetooth were cutting edge.
They were in a unit in Preston, I bought through ebay but collected and was surprised that they actually had a small showroom.
I've seen some ebay listings of theirs recently now that I'm back biking. :)

Nice to hear that they are still going and growing :)

Their old shop front was tiny, but backed up by a massive warehouse and they would get anything out for you. There's a lot more on display now. Yonks ago I went to look at and ended up buying a helmet from the old shop but was on my bike and no way of carrying the new helmet or my old one. No problem said the shop manager, you live in Garstang I will drop it off on my way home tonight. Which he duly did at about 6.30 and a good 20 minute detour as I was hardly en-route for him Good service and has left me with a good impression of the shop ever since.

The same business also runs a shop selling Drones and other radio controlled stuff. They were very helpful when I went in after a LiPo battery for a little project offering loads of good advice and help even though I was only spending a fiver on a battery.

I could find my way there without a sat-nav from Redcar as I've been to Stuarts (in Longridge) so many times. I may visit next time I'm that way. I usually turn right off the A59 onto Ribchester Road (at the traffic light intersection) but this looks to be simply straight on until you see Lidl then left.

Good stuff, Austin.

Its quite a few miles on from your right turn Craig, but yes stay on the A59 all the way into Preston look for Lidl, etc. Give us a bell/text/PM next time you are coming over.
