Day 7. Back to Strasbourg.
Day 8. Back home via Calais.

Notes:
AT fuel consumption was interesting - got as much as 80 mpg when pootling around the lakes. 65mpg on mountain roads. Dropped to 39.5mpg on last leg up to Calais, using a tank of U95 E10 ethanol cr@p. Rewarded with U97 in Dover, then 53 mpg at high cruising speed on last leg.

Events:
AT rear puncture on autoroute at 7am on day 8. Tubed tyres. I had a can of tyre weld stuff, a small pump, and roadside assistance cover, but no levers or tubes. So used Keith's electric pump and limped off at next junction to find nearest garage. Into nearest village of Freming-Merlebach (1km) where to my astonishment there was a main franchise Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki dealer. Sent 2 off to Old Mcdonald's for breakfast, sat it out until shop opened, got tyre fixed. 3 hours lost. Phoned ferry company, paid admin fees to get tickets changed, hit the road again. Splash and dash stops made up the time so we still got home before darkness set in. 900km day.
