Hi

Just stumbled across Big Trailie having been on xrv.org.uk for a couple of years. I'm based in Southampton and ride an Africa Twin RD07. Having acquired it as a project a couple of years ago, I finally got it back on the road in time for the Paddy Dakar in September '13 and then did the Taffy Dakar earlier this year.

After the Taffy I thought I'd like to hit the trails more regularly so joined the TRF and contacted my local group. The response was quite underwhelming, it seems that my local group are not really interested in anyone riding a bigger bike.

So, are there many of you around the South Coast area? I'd be interested in any meets/ride outs on the South Coast/Salisbury Plain area.

Cheers,

Sam

Sam, my parents and down your way so I'd be happy to come and find a few trails. I know people ride some lanes near Loomies but I've never looked them up. I know quads do them so they should be Ok for big bikes.

The Wiltshire TRF which I am a member of do several excursions onto salisbury plain which has a lot of big bike friendly trails.
Contact Dave Flippance on Facebook with your TRF membership and he will add you to our closed Facebook group which we use to plan events and ride outs.

Cheers all for the welcome!

Unfortunately I can't make the national - next year.

Whealie - thanks for the offer, I work quite close to Loomies so if you're in the area and fancy a ride give me a shout.

Probably a bit late in the year for an after work ride, but if you have a day off or we can schedule a weekend.... Even just a few hours might be fun.

Hi
I live in the New forest and Know a few trails around Salisbury plain. I have a KTM 950 Adventure so all I do is big bike friendly. You can also try some of the other forums as some of them do organize ride outs for big bikes . the trouble is the plain can be very slippery so not many will go and play now until spring.
