Hi all.
I have a Honda XRV 750 RD07 that has a ruined output shaft.
Im looking for reputable engine builder to do the work needed to replace the shaft.
I cuurently have one of those aftermarket sprockets fitted that clamp to the shaft but that isnt going to last as there was almost nothing for it to clamp to.
So, if anyone can help by putting me in contact with someone or if you have any suggestions where to get parts from it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Can't give you a recommendation for an engine rebuild.

However, the go to place for Honda spares is David Silver Spares.

I can also recommend CMSNL. But with them being in the Netherlands I can't see this being cost effective - not after Brexit.

And for a really outside the box suggestion you could also try MegaZip. Although again, import duties may well put you off.

Hope that's some help to you.

Tony

If I was you I would check on the availability of new output shafts - hens teeth springs to mind - before you leap into getting the engine out and then re-built.

Euro land is a good source for used engines for these bikes - well, better than the UK.
You might want to look at that route as well as a re-build of your current donk.

Just had a look as to availability. Part number 23220MAY000 - supercedes the original part number of 23220MV1000.

David Silver's doesn't have the part.

CMSNL list it at £355.55 but don't have any.

Might be cheaper to look for a second hand engine as Steve says.

Ive already looked into the shaft. Its a discontinued item but there is one from a different engine that fits.

I was in the same position as you are. Myself and Steve T entered an event in Ireland. On the way back, funny noises coming from the engine. To be fair the motor had done circa 99500 miles so no shame there, and I was hooning it a bit on the last stage :p I replaced all of the clutch, no joy, looked at replacing bearings inside. Did the sums and decided not to open up a can of worms, not knowing what bearings would require replacing.
In the end bought a motor with 40k on the clock from a breaker in Germany, guaranteed for 3 months I think.
Came on a pallet very quickly, shoved it in and its been in there ever since, no worries.
I will try and find the address of the supplier for you but it was a few years ago now.
Cheap solution, weld the adaptor onto the spline

Oh and welcome
