Had a spin over on the Isle of Wight last weekend with Stevey. White Bay Hotel, Sandown £25 B&B a night....clean, bar, and en suite. £44 return Lymington to Yarmouth. Tell you a secret shhhhhhh...they have been resurfacing loads of great roads on the Island in the last couple of years...get over there quick! The Old Military Road Freshwater to Niton is superb.

We went to IoW a couple of years ago. Its a bit sleepy isn't it. But, we stayed at a real quirky campsite: Windmill Campersite - Cool Camping, Glamping, Campsites Uk Its got a helicopter camper hut amongst other very quirky things including the most insane shower you ever seen. The owner must be stoned most of the time. Worth a trip to the IoW just to stay there. Oh, and there's a couple of very hairy fords to cross to get there.

Brilliant ! Is that 44quid an open ticket or set date number ?....... So Stevie's looking cool again ! must be that new CRF. Are we tocking for a matching pair ?

My old Vmax lives now on the IOW only one on the island apparently, and I've always promised to pay the chap a visit. Happy new owner, a 6'4" Olympic marshal arts champ. What's impressive, is he has only one leg........the bike looked massive with me on it, he makes it look like a pit bike !

Was this one of them..near the castle?
Yup that's one of them. I didn't try the one in your pic, partly as a I am a complete wimp when it comes to slippy stuff but also because at one of the ends there was a huge deep hole with a big step into and out of it - it looked as if someone had got a bit stuck and dug a hole spinning a wheel to get out. We watched a Suzuki Jimny go through and he struggled with it. The other fords are a lot shorter and shallower.

Panniers very useful! I am not sure I should have been on the Plain on the clock showing 20 miles! Great fun though...more soon
