I was thinking about an appearance this year. However 507 miles nearly 10 hrs travelling and no nearby b & b is making me rethink. I haven’t been camping for a while, is £21/night the going rate.

Seems to be about average now, I have a booking at a campsite just out of Fort William in July and it is £20 a night.

Ok I get the drift, it’s not expensive by todays standards.

It fucking is to me! :D

Sweet Jesus, £20 odd quid to camp for a night!! It wasn't too long ago I was paying £25 for a B&B.

I think I'll come in the car and sleep in the back in the car park to avoid the fee! :D

Aye it's a fair slog that Mike. I thought mine was bad at 300 odd miles and about 6 hours.

2008, 20 quid for a hotel room in Wales.

Not a fancy one mind, but still.

I had trouble believing it but I checked the first Dutch campsite that came to mind and they also wanted 120+ euro for one person for a typical Thursday to Sunday weekend in September. Nuts. I’d expect them to provide the tent for that sort of money. ;)

I've stayed at a bunkhouse several times (Bunkum bunkhouse) in central Glasgow, near Ashton Lane & the botanical gardens - £13 quid a night and a fab location, albeit a bit 'claggy mat' in cleanliness, only a few years ago too.
Wonder if it's still going?

Aye things are getting crazy expensive!

Looked at booking a Premier Inn in July as Ellie wants to go to the Lakes and the ones in Lakes were wanting 500-600 for two nights!

Got one in Barrow-In-Furness for £300.

We're always been told to do the staycation and put money into the UK economy but fek me they don't make it easy!!

There’s a good chance that those from “dawn sowf ” can pitch over night in my garden M6 J 30 if you want to break up the journey,

Yeah but they'll only be room for about 20 tents though. :D

I could come down to you first to make it worth going out the front door, [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
(Its only 120 miles to oban from skye)
That would make it 640 miles to oban for me. Much more like it. [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
Craic would be good too.
