Are we doing it all again? If so, I'd like to suggest Porlock on the North Somerset coast on the boarder of Exmoor. There is a famous story of the lifeboat of Lynmouth being unable to launch due to the high seas so the locals dragged it to Porlock, widening the road and even removing the corner of a house to get the boat through. It then successfully launched and saved every life on board the stricken boat.
The main road, the A39, is the steepest A-road in the United Kingdom, approaching 1 in 4 (25%) in places. There is a pretty hairy switchback on Porlock Hill. There are loads of good roads across Exmoor. There are a few green lanes too.
The Sparkhayes campsite is on the edge of town. They are happy for us to come and will offer a group discount. It's a basic campsite, but vans are allowed. There are loads of nice walks and the beach is a short walk away.
As you walk out of the campsite into town there is a pub, with a huge sign flagging that it is the only pub in the village. What the sign fails to mention is there is a hotel and an Inn too, so there is plenty of choice. There is also a great pie restaurant selling only award-winning pies.
The Saturday 4 September is likely to be the Town's carnival so there will be loads going on that night.
If there's any interest I'm happy to organise it. I'll post this on Facebook and the WhatsApp group and see who is interested.

They have some rather nice 3D terrain over that way. ;)

I'm only on Big Traillie, which will be gone soon. So count me in I'll go there Sept 2nd. ( I seem to have arrived home with a bottle of Merlot which I don't drink. Must be yours or Kevin's ? I'll save it and bring it with me ! )

From Facebook I have
Steve Thomas
Mike Hall

From WhatsApp I have:
Chad
Barftone
Meesh (posible)
Cabby
Jeroen Bouwman
Michel (Rubberchicken)
Paul S (possible)

And from here I have:
Soho
Austin

With me, that's already a dozen. I think we're on. Put it in your diary. I'll probably aim to be there from 1 September.

I will always and ever be a maybe, but I'll definitely try.

(As you know, even when I'm already in the bloody country it's not a given I'll actually turn up. :iconmrgreen: )

Me and my son Jack would be interested.
I can't see anything about it on the Facebook page and would like to join the WhatsApp group.

Do the local hostelries do b&b?
