My local dealer is at the official launch for the new GSA.

Not great photos but the bikes certainly look interesting

I could be tempted but I think I'll keep the old rattler for a bit yet.

Boris, guess you'll be going to the National Mining Museum at Nitten next month then?

I wish I was. Motorrad Central always put on a good bash and I guess this would be no different. Unfortunately I'm away that weekend so I'll have to wait a wee while before I get to throw a leg over one.

I'm actually really keen to ride one but in all honesty it would have to be very very good to exchange my current bike for it.

Have you seen the price

No.. But I thought it was going to be broadly the same for a fully loaded bike as the old model. Yes the base price would be higher but the option packs are smaller (and therefore cheaper) to get to the same overall trim level.

Was I misinformed?

Think so. I haven't been to the dealers yet but I've been talking to people who have and been told that with all the toys it will come out in excess of £16k.

The prices are now on Motorrad Central's website

The base model is £12,600 and the dearest one (The XE) comes in at 15,350 with the only option not fitted being the alarm at £205

I guess if you want it there is luggage on top of that lot so if similarly priced to before probably another £1500 including fixings

I would reply to that but i am still waiting for the multi-quote button to appear. Bit slow these mods these days. Maybe we should look for a few younger ones to speed things up a bit :eek:ld-025: :eek:ld-025: :eek:ld-025:

Ouch. Compared the Dutch prices for a quick giggle. The full options one (ex. alarm) is €22675, or £18.5k at the current exchange rate. Wonderful taxes...

And I thought this was a fairly large amount of money for a new bike, until I had a look at Ducati and/or Harley. (A fancy one of the latter being nearly €50k)
