Nordkapp and Honda Africa Twins

Have 11 minutes of pleasure watching the Honda AT tour to Nordkapp.

We saw the group just after they got off the ferry onto the Lofoten Islands (about 4mins in). The whole entourage took about 10 minutes to pass us while we waited come out of a shop car park - the bikes, spare bikes, support riders, support vehicles, camera cars and more. I recognise loads of the stretches of road and bridges they went on after that so I was obviously pioneering the route for them :). It also gives a great taste of what its like there - and it really is how it is in the video, which made my wife cry for some reason.

The scenery is lovely. I can see why Anne broke up. The idea of sharing the road with 39 other people, all on new bikes does little for me though. I'll take my Eldorado thanks.

Not enough gravel for you Nick, but if you ever get the chance for a visit to Norway take it (and a big full wallet). Good walking country too with plenty infrastructure for multi-day trips - so I am told.

Cracking vid - still don't want a CRF1000L though , nor do I feel the urge to go that far north, but nice little vid just the same.

So Austin, what was it about the vid that got Ann crying? Was it the thought of the cost of everything over there? ;)

I actually enjoyed that. Must be one of the few touring vids that shows riding in the rain - over what looked like an extended period too.

And no heated grips on one of the bikes - circa 2:30.

I'd like to think that I'd have the courage (and the wallet :)) to do something like this - just to say I'd done it.
