Back from billy no mates rideout.
I set off around 8.30 after hastily fitting my lasted brainwave (heated jacket liner) heading to Derbyshire via tomtom winding roads, a quick errand then big breakfast at Yondermann, a natter with a couple of other bikers before scooting around the Dales for a few hours & home.

Looking up towards Winnats pass

Nice one Phil, good to see you're managing to get out and about

That's a strange place for a road gully in the first pic

a) because there are no kerbs to train the surface water into
b) it's right on the wheel line. Maybe the road was widened at some point and they, er,left the gully in the same place ?

Dunno, nice pics anyways, thanks for posting :thumbsupanim:

If the pic is where I think it is, Phil is facing up an about 1:5 hill. I don't know if that helps with the gully question (tbh I cant even see a gully in the pic, just some erosion from where cars nip onto the verge).

Sorry I missed the ride Phil, it was a nice day for it, although I did manage a billy no mates run around the northern lakes in the week which was good and included catching the RAF flying very very low over Loweswater.

I think a gentlemen do lunch meet should be scheduled soon, and we both want to meet Toby again. He must be a big bouncing baby boy by now.

Cheers all, a lovely day it was nippy but no frost & just a little overcast.
My last minute diy heated jacket install certainly helped.

John, now you mention it that gulley in the first pic is in an odd spot.

Austin, young Toby is coming on great, crawling at frightening speed and into pretty much everything at any available opportunity, standing with just a hand to steady himself and can make it to the top of the stairs unaided.

The little darling is just recovering from a sopt of man flu.

You are welcome to pop in anytime (you might decide against it after that pic!) although I've had quite a bit of 'W' on lately so a bit tied through week days.

Looking to win some photography competitions, Phil? :mockery22:

Mind you, it'd probably do really well at this year's Turner Prize. :D

What a fine idea. Like a butterfly, I am emerging from my Winter hibernation!

Although the trailie has been getting dirty now and then, it'd be good to catch up with some of you :thumbsupanim:

Well that is going to be the shortest "tick-tock" thread ever now.

Let me know when you are coming up. I have never knowingly seen a ccm in the flesh.

A bit "wham bam, thank you mam!"

I tested one last year and felt the engine was complete shite. A loose bag of spanners... Vibey and rough above 50mph, so NOT a potential 250mile/day bike. Ergos, ride and handling were good and tight, on and off road. 125kg is a real plus factor too.. :thumbsupanim:

I have since been chatting online with a couple of owners who are happy with their bikes and suggest that I might well have rode a "bad un" that had been the factory race/test machine! TBH, I would have hoped not, as it did not give me a good impression, but I liked enough to go back. However, CCM are doing a test day in Bucknell, South Shropshire, and much as I found Bolton and surroundings to be almost on par with say, the Peaks, I prefer a shorter run out, so no visit to Bolton now for this Shropshire Lad... ;)
