Tis a good bike Ian. 4 week test ride? Tell me more!!

I've got one on hire for a little 3000 mile ride round New Zealand :)

Standard 800GS though, I reckon I'll know if I like it by the time I'm done.

Not that I'll be replacing my 1150 any time soon though.

Sounds awesome boss. I had an 1150gs for around 5 years I think, sold it for a 990 Adventure R, kept that one 6 months...............Wish I never sold the 1150, used to load it right up and it still road the same. Good bike.

Cool. :D When/where are you going?
We go in January, touring both islands, starting in Christchurch and ending in Auckland.

But that's for another thread when we get back :)

I used to have one of them. Kept it for a year just couldn't get on with it. Went back to a 1200.

Nothing wrong with the bike, just didn't do it for me.

That is a very nice motorcycle, and ignore anything you read about 1200's etc. On your bike you can get places they'd only ever dream about and if it falls over you can pick it up yourself and not have to wait for a passing crane

Originally was going to buy a second hand 1200 Adv, unfortunately it had only just come in to the dealer and had not been through the workshop so arranged to ride it the weekend after. Phoned the dealer mid week and asked if I could try the 800GS as well, was curious more than anything. To cut a long story short I didn't bother riding the 1200 as the 800 done everything I needed it to.

It's a stunning bike. I love mine.

Ian I never thought I'd get rid of my R1150GS but the F800GS is so much more nimble and fun. :thumbsupanim:
