I quite fancy this on my Africa Twin:-

Anyone interested? My thought was ferry to Bilbao / Santander on a Friday evening / Saturday.
Santander to start Braganca 265 miles
5 days camping / small hotels doing the route, this is not an organised tour, it's a recognised route produced by Touratech so there is no charge for this.

At the end in Cacela Velha my intention is to ride to my brother's in Elche, leave my bike there and fly home. I would fly back out in September, do the HISS and ride home.

It might suit someone who wanted to fly their partner out and then carry on or a gentle meander back to Blighty.

My timing is flexible April / May / June.

Stuart,

I downloaded the TT gps route when it first became available and have given serious consideration to "doing" Portugal via dirt.

I too was looking at the months you have ID'd, with a preference for May, as it's neither too hot during the day and not too freezing at night when camping

I was also planning to "doss" at my sisters in Torreviaja! for a break and then return via as many dirt rides as possible when heading north through Spain.

Having had a little "episode" over the festive season I have put the trip on the back burner. If you do ride the route, I'd be really keen to hear your thoughts/impression of the whole thing.

Be watching this thread with interest.

Sorry Steve, I missed replies, having had no serious interest I've now booked to have a week's intensive training for my RoSPA end of May so I've kind of killed May. The ACT map & DVD have arrived now but not had chance to watch it yet. Need to keep in touch on this one.
