I don't know what the deer have found to eat in our garden, but one of them seems to have taken a funny turn...

The venison steaks we bought in Lidl the other day came from Scotland apparently.

And if the silly, bouncing critters get to the gooseberries like they did last year, the next steaks might be coming from a little closer to home. ;)

We're having to fence off the blackberries, gooseberries and cherries to keep both the avian and cervid tikes out.

We actually need to build a fruit cage. We have the room - it's just getting around to doing it.

Aye they probably were from Scotland -- from a fekin deer farm :D
Sorry, but buying venison from Lidl is going to leave you a little short on the venison taste scales
You can't beat a beast off the hill, tastier if it is erm "one for the pot "
I refuse to buy venison from any other than a game butcher, saying that, I haven't bought any, legally that is, for a while !!
A guy I know in Skye tipped a whole load of turnips, like 3 ton, next to his fence and waited until they jumped over his fence, then boom, carnage :)
I know, cos I had two of them in the back of my vectra at the time, gutted and skinned of course, still a heavy weight for the vectra.

Hope you guys are ok and weathering the current situation, we had a hoot last time you were up here, need to hook up again soon

Aye John, it'll be nice to get let out. Definitely going to Scotland when the situation calms down somewhat.

Even though we can now travel between counties, I'm not even thinking of travelling any further this year. Not seen any of my family for well over a year now. Rachel's immediate family are all local.

As for the Lidl venison, I hear what you're saying. However, the packaging does come with this warning - "This deer was shot in the wild and bullet metal may remain.

Oh, and we've just had 8 of the buggers in the garden
